Mmm, I think most people get that so far...I haven't seen anyone doing anything other than accepting our help so far, at least. Though there's probably some people out there getting nasty about it...

[Because there's always one. Or two. Or some small amount of people who are ready to blame anything that readily presents itself to be blamed in situations like this. And they are newcomers - Ren knows well enough that some people will take any excuse to be fearful of outsiders.]

I have to wonder what all those examinations when we got here were about if the scientists haven't figured that much out yet, though... [Maybe he's used to more productive and specific science happening in his world.]

[ Allura nods in agreement. She'd been wondering something similar herself and there hasn't been enough time to really delve in very deep. ]

It could be just as simple as making sure that we are cleansed of any known pathogens, but if we are entirely different species then there are likely things their examination and available technology cannot anticipate.

[ Which she can't exactly blame them for, though she has her suspicions. ]

Ah! We're coming up on the edge of the restricted area now.

Probably...especially if they don't know how we came here, that might have something to do with any weirdness that's going on with us, don't you think?

[The way Ren says it, rather airily as if it's only the vaguest of vague thoughts, doesn't make it sound like much of a theory, but he really wouldn't be surprised if their manner of arrival had something to do with this mess.

He turns his attention forward again when Allura mentions they're getting close to the border, though, tilting his head a bit.] Oh, that's quicker than I thought. You must have a better sense of direction than I do...

[Which really isn't difficult, honestly.]

Do you mean the Chroma? It's certainly a possibility. From what we can see we all come from very different places, though it is also possible that this unique commonality between us all is what brought us here in the first place. It's difficult to say.

[ More ideas but not enough evidence to prove one way or another. She hopes those will be answered sooner rather than later. Leaving the battlefield at such an important time could be disastrous. ]

The constant vegetative growth has made it difficult to memorize paths. But--

Right, basically...it'd be pretty weird if there wasn't any kind of connecting factor, and I think that's the only thing they know about so far, isn't it?

[Which begs a whole host of other questions regarding why and how they all have Chroma when it seems to be an energy source that only this world can harvest, but those big philosophical questions can come another time, as far as he's concerned.

In any case, he gives an understanding nod when Allura points to her ears.] Oh, right, that would make it easier...would it be rude to ask what you are, since you're not human...?

[He does want to be able to call people by what they actually are, at least, and it's interesting to know.]

[ To his question, Allura shakes her head with a hint of amusement at the edges of her smile. ]

Not at all. I'm Altean, and I will admit that I have been surprised to see so many humans congregated in the same place. It's rather uncommon in the universe at large, as I've found.

[Ren looks a tiny bit relieved to hear that it's not rude, though he still definitely looks curious to hear about her point of view about it.]

Mmm, are we only on the one planet in your universe too...? If we are, then I can see why you'd think it's kind of weird that so many humans have ended up here. Though I'm wondering if some aren't just humanoid instead of actually human...it would make more sense, right?

[To a certain value of the term "sense" considering how little their general arrival here makes sense, but hey.]
