That's my family name - Hifumi is my given name. [Allura's not the only one who's been completely baffled by the concept, but it's a lifelong habit. It'll be a while before Hifumi can shake it off.]

'Prefer' may not be the right term for it. I think it's going to be easier to use in the long run, especially since you're not the only person I've met who's used to different naming conventions - it's just not easy to break a lifetime habit. [If there's one useful thing about her mother pushing her into the limelight, it's that this isn't her first brush with relative strangers using her given name, and these are at least better circumstances, after a fashion.]

And as if on cue, one of the nearby vines rouses stretches out towards them, but Allura smacks it back. ]

The base of these things is so difficult to see with how wildly they can be.

I'm sure we will. [For starters, what does she mean by 'movement'? Context suggests it's a time measurement, but it's not one Hifumi's familiar with at all.]

One small group would struggle with this no matter what, but I highly doubt we're the only ones trying to make some headway. I'd imagine the combined effort will make a more significant dent.

You are likely correct, though it would be even more beneficial if it was a coordinated effort.

[ Allura supposes that she could have made better strides to assist in that capacity as well, but it had seemed easier for everyone to jump into action. ]
