[Silence because Shiro, the real one, is slapping at his Fluid, trying to figure out why it's playing music at him all of the sudden.]

[ This is just several forms of odd. Allura frowns at her fluid and switches to video--yes, that will get his attention, right? ]

Shiro, what's going on?

[The music is still playing -- though she has his full attention. Don't you know the kingdom's under siege, and everybody needs you--]

I -- have no idea. You called and it's suddenly playing music!

[ That's not a song that she recognizes, but there is very little of Earth music that she does at this point. ]

I called because you started voice controls after sending me all those strange texts!

What strange texts?

I wasn't even awake until you called!

There's no one else here, Shiro. And the mice wouldn't ask me to step on them! Or on you.

[ Allura makes a face as she taps the screen on her fluid, moving the video feed to the corner of the screen so she can scroll up in their conversation. ]'

[ ... shiro.exe has stopped working ]

[Hold on, let him check this himself... And proceed to continue looking absolutely mortified by the results.]

I thought it was out of character, which is why I asked if you were feeling alright.

[ Are you...sleep texting, Shiro? ]

I don't... feel worse off than usual.

I swear, though. I didn't send you those things.

[ If only because it was a very un-Shiro sequence of messages. And Deerington could get weird. ]

We should check the rest of the house and make sure we haven't been infiltrated...

[Well, that's a relief. The tension bleeds out of his shoulders, and he flops back against the pillows.]

[... yes, pillows. He's made a nest.]

[Give him a minute to haul himself upright.]

[ There are telltale squeaks behind her. ]

You need to rest.

If something's in the house, I don't want you to have to deal with it alone...

[ As if saying that in Deerington can make anything true... ]

[Listen, he was going to push further, but her saying she'd call for him helps.]

Without prompting, Chuchule scurries over to Shiro's room so that she can keep him company in there. She'll even try to take his temperature with her little hands on his forehead. Yes, still sick...

Shiro will hear Allura shuffling about the house, but there are no screams. No shouts. No sudden bangs our loud plunks.

It's about ten minutes later but she picks the feed right back up. ]

The perimeter is secure. I haven't found anything out of place...

I trust you.

[Well, hopefully that makes Allura feel better at least.]

[Having Chuchule near is a plus. He smiles a little, reaching up with a shaky hand to scratch her behind the ears. A welcome distraction from waiting in suspense to see if Allura's okay.]

[And thankfully, she replies.]

Okay -- okay, that's good. Maybe it's an electronic problem.

Perhaps...

[ That's a little generous for an "electrical problem", though. But she'll research that on her own. She doesn't need to worry Shiro with this more when he's already ill. ]

I'll keep an eye out. How are you faring?

It seems like it's stopped... for now. Hopefully.

[It's frustrating he can't do more from here. But with how unsteady his legs are, there's not much else he can do.]

Still breathing. [And shaking. But Moira didn't find anything to indicate it was going to become chronic again... so...] I'm okay.

Is there anything I can bring you?

[ Chuchule chirps up from outside of the fluid's screen. ]

Oh, she says your water bottle is empty.

No, I'm --

[Well there goes Chuchule.]

... Oh. I didn't realize.

[ She's looking out for you, Shiro. ]

I'll be right there.

[ And sure enough, Allura gives a short knock before letting herself in. She knows he's decent--or at least under the covers. Chuchule hops next to the water bottle and squeaks. ]
